Managing user attributes and licenses

Creating License Pools using the Assign mode enables you to modify a user's portal attribute so that it matches the value of an existing License Pool. This adjustment automatically relocates the user into the chosen License Pool. You can manage user portal attributes and licenses using the management actions outlined below.

Set portal attribute

To update the pool a user belongs to, simply update the user’s portal attribute using the “Set portal attribute” management action.

Edit user properties

You can also move a user to a different pool while managing their license. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Edit user properties

Locate the user and click the pen icon next to their details. This will open the “Edit user properties” panel.

Step 2: Edit "Licenses" details

In the “CoreView properties” section, ensure you update the portal attribute to match the destination License Pool.

Scroll to the “Licenses” section. Open the “License Pool” field to edit it. In our example, we will move our user from France to Italy.

Assign the desired license(s) and make sure that the “Usage location” field is not empty. Click “Submit” to save changes.

The user’s portal attribute will be updated after the action is completed.
