Playbook dashboard: widgets

  • Last update on October 24th, 2024

Each Playbook dashboard, when displayed in widget view, comprises the following types of widgets:

  • Playbook summary: a summary of the policy statuses within the Playbook
  • Report widgets: customizable, graphic representations of Playbook policy reports.

Playbook summary

This widget provides a summary of the policy statuses within the Playbook. It displays the following metrics:

  • Number of enabled policies
  • Number of enabled policies with remediation enabled
  • Number of enabled policies without remediation enabled
  • Number of policies with remediation scheduled

By clicking on “Manage”, a “Playbook settings” modal window will open, displaying all the policies contained in that Playbook.

Clicking on the pencil icon (1) will direct you to the Edit panel for that specific policy. On the other hand, clicking on the eye icon (2) will reveal more details about the policies, including the number of matched items, any set exceptions, and a description.

Policy details accessible when clicking on the eye icon in Playbook settings.

The “Playbook settings” modal also offers a shortcut that allows you to easily enable or disable both the policy and its remediation, eliminating the need to access Settings. To view the set threshold, the remediation type, and to verify if the remediation is scheduled, simply scroll to the right.

Please be aware that only Tenant Admins and Playbook Admins can see the “Manage” button. However, it's important to note that Playbook Admins are not permitted to make any changes to Out-of-the-box policies within the Edit panel.

Report widgets

These customizable widgets are the graphic representation of Playbook policy reports. You can customize them by clicking the pen icon in the top-right corner.

This action will prompt a modal to appear, allowing you to alter the following parameters:

  1. Display the value as number or as percentage
  2. Choose a time range between monthly, weekly, or daily
  3. Select which policies to display
  4. Select which timestamps to display

You can access the full report by clicking on “See details” in the bottom-right corner of the widget.

Please note that the filter's result is user-specific, meaning only you will see the widget with the applied filter.

“Workflow and remediation data” widget

Tenant Admins and Playbook Admins who have not yet enabled Workflows and Playbook policy remediations in their CoreView environment will initially see a single widget titled  “Workflow and remediation data”. This widget will guide them through the process of configuring their policies.

Select “Configure policies” to begin populating this dashboard

Widgets available from day 0

From the outset, the following widgets will be available:

  • Playbook score
  • Matched items over time
  • Playbook summary

Post configuration

Once admins start setting up their policies, the respective widgets will be displayed, initially showing a “No data to show” label. As users begin to run policy remediations, the dashboard will populate with execution data, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of the policies.

By following these steps, Tenant Admins and Playbook Admins can fully utilize the CoreView environment to monitor and manage workflows and policy remediations effectively.
