The remediation action for Copilot policies is NOT available in the Essentials solution.
These policies enable you to automate the identification of users by their engagement, facilitating the efficient reallocation or assignment of Copilot licenses.

Eligible users for the assignment of a Copilot license

This policy is set up to identify users who are eligible for the assignment of a Copilot license.
It lists the display name, user principal name, and activity metrics such as the total number of actions in Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams over the last 30 days. It also includes the user's location and manager, and confirms that the Copilot plan is not currently assigned (as indicated by "IsEmpty").
This tool helps in determining which users could benefit most from a Copilot license based on their activity levels and current license status.
Remediation action
Send a report to specified recipients (one or more).
What you can configure
- Establish the conditions under which the report is sent
- Choose the file format
- Compose the email body
- Type the recipient(s) of the report (custom address)
- Schedule the recurrence of the remediation action
Users with a low Copilot usage

Additionally, it includes details such as the country, department, and manager of the user.
The policy tracks the last Copilot action in BizChat, Teams chat, Teams meetings, Office docs, and Outlook, indicating no activity in the past 30 days. This tool is useful for assessing the adoption rate of Copilot features and providing targeted training or support where needed.
Remediation action
- Send attestation to the licensed user with a low Copilot usage (required). If approved, the license will be removed.
- Execute the action “Remove Microsoft 365 Copilot license”
