This tutorial is designed to provide information on the requirements, prerequisites, and steps required to successfully upgrade your CoreView Hybrid Connector.
The steps presented describe how to first deploy the Hybrid Connector version into a new server and then migrate your workload from previous versions to the latest one.
We recommend performing all the tasks during a maintenance window since the migration requires downtime with both your management session and all management actions performed while the procedure is being completed.
However, even if your management actions won’t execute during the migration time, all of them will be queued and executed as soon as your target Hybrid Connector version is up and running.
The audience for this document and the performance of the activities described herein would typically require the participation of one or more of your organization’s senior technology staff that support enterprise services.
It is critically important that the appropriate individuals within your organization review the information provided in this document and reach out to CoreView with any questions prior to scheduling a deployment.
Docker
As mentioned above, the CoreView Diagnostic Tool will use Docker to run.
Please bear in mind that each Hybrid Connector must run on the corresponding Windows Server host version: the 2019 Hybrid Connector on Windows Server 2019, the 2022 Hybrid Connector on Windows Server 2022, and the 2025 Hybrid Connector on Windows Server 2025.
For instance, the Hybrid Connector version must match the Windows Server version you deployed: Windows Server 2019 requires the 2019 Hybrid Connector, Windows Server 2022 requires the 2022 Hybrid Connector, and Windows Server 2025 requires the 2025 Hybrid Connector. This is because the Hybrid Connector runs in a Windows Server Docker container, and the Docker engine is tied to the host operating system version.
Please, be mindful that the installation package for the Hybrid Connector is the same for every version of Windows Server; what changes and is important to configure correctly is the SKU. You will find the step-by-step procedure in Upgrade the Hybrid Connector: Migration steps article.
To install Docker on your Windows server, please follow the instructions described in the official Microsoft documentation.
