Some CoreView reports offer the possibility to create in-app Pivot charts, which can then be downloaded and saved as images. This feature can enhance presentations by providing visually appealing charts, eliminating the need for data exportation and third-party applications.
How to create Pivot charts in CoreView
Please follow the steps outlined below to learn how to generate and customize a chart from a CoreView report.
Step 1
Open the desired report and ensure that the columns containing the information you wish to include in your chart are visible. In the example below, the columns “User Principal Name” and “Has archive” have been selected.
Step 2
Turn on the “Pivot mode” toggle.
Step 3
Select the information you want to incorporate into your chart and drag these items into the “Row Groups” section.
Step 4
Right-click on one of the items on the main page and select “Pivot Chart.” Choose a chart type to begin editing your graph. In the example below, a pie chart has been chosen.
Step 5
At this stage, a modal window will appear, displaying the selected pivot chart. From this window, you can perform the following actions:
- Expand the modal window to full-screen.
- Unlink from grid: selecting this option ensures that any changes to the data will not affect the graph.
- Download graph: this allows you to download the graph as a .png image.
- By clicking on this arrow, you can access additional settings.
Please note that the pivot chart will not be automatically saved within the report.
Step 6
By clicking on the arrow to access additional settings, you will find both a “Settings” and a “Format” tab. Under the “Settings” tab, you can alter the type of chart and choose from a variety of color palettes.
Step 7
Upon switching to the “Format” tab, you will be able to add a title, adjust the padding and the background, and much more.
