Reconcile lets you compare tenants and perform actions to adjust your tenant configurations. This capability helps you identify the differences between tenants and make desired changes.
Using Reconcile, you can compare:
- A tenant with its associated baseline: by default, Configuration Manager self-hosted compares your downstream tenant against its associated baseline.
- A tenant with a non-associated baseline: compare a downstream tenant against a baseline that is not associated with your tenant.
- A tenant with the CIS baseline: compare your downstream or baseline tenants against Industry standard baselines: CIS baseline (more about baselines).
- A tenant with the Essential Eight baseline: compare your downstream or baseline tenants against one of the Maturity Levels from the Essential Eight baseline.
- Tenant-to-Tenant: compare any two downstream tenants.
- Baseline-to-Baseline: compare any two baseline tenants.
- Tenant with itself over time: compare a baseline or downstream tenant to its previous states over time.
Additionally, you can set a default comparison tenant to assign a specific tenant to serve as the default comparison tenant for another tenant.
Managing results, configurations, and performing actions
When comparing tenants, the Reconcile feature allows you to
- In the Reconcile interface you can find features to customize which results are displayed: search, filter and the possibility to show unchangeable, changeable or hidden configurations.
- Organize and manage your configurations, hiding or unhiding them, adding notes or descriptions.
- Perform actions to make changes to your configurations, including maintaining or removing Configuration Types or copying configurations from one tenant to another tenant.
- Additionally, you can link configurations to treat them as a unified policy, enabling you to review and modify them as if they were named the same.
