Foundation for Configuration Manager

  • Last update on March 5th, 2025

1. Service Description

CoreView’s Configuration Manager backs up Microsoft 365 tenant configurations, monitors for drift from a baseline, and facilitates quick reconciliation. The Foundation Package provides a predefined onboarding process that ensures a smooth and efficient start with Configuration Manager.

This package is mandatory because it provides the foundation for effective use of Configuration Manager. This service includes deploying Configuration Manager within an Azure DevOps organization and onboarding one or more Microsoft 365 tenants configured as either baseline or client/downstream tenants.

2. Approach

The minimum objective of the Configuration Manager Foundation Package is to implement an initial solution (Minimum Viable Product, MVP) that provides immediate value to your organization. We have structured our approach to ensure that the MVP is achieved quickly, allowing you to start benefiting from Configuration Manager without delays.

The Foundation package follows a structured and predefined implementation plan designed to ensure that your environment is up and running as quickly as possible.

Azure DevOps Environment

Configuration Manager currently operates within Azure DevOps. We can deploy it into your existing Azure DevOps organization, or alternatively, we can create a new organization for you and grant you full control. Once a DevOps organization is established, we install Configuration Manager into it.

Microsoft 365 Tenant Onboarding

According to your specific needs and use cases, we onboard one or more of your Microsoft 365 tenants, choosing the best authentication method and baseline/downstream configuration to suit your situation.

CoreView Connection and Product Usage

If you acquired Configuration Manager as part of CoreView One, we’ll assist you in connecting your Configuration Manager instance to your CoreView dashboard, enabling you to see your tenant configuration changes in one place. We’ll also ensure you understand how to perform synchronizations, configuration comparisons, and reconcile.

4. Duration and Timeline

Discovery & Design

The project begins with a handover and an initial Kick-Off meeting to review your current state and business requirements. We will also define the overall project plan and goals during this phase.

Initial Setup

Here, we focus on the preliminary configuration of your environment, setting up the necessary infrastructure to support the project. This includes creating a DevOps Organization and adding your required tenants into Configuration Manager.

MVP Implementation

In this phase, we implement the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version of the solution, focusing on core features tailored to your business use case.

Training on MVP

Once the MVP is in place, we conduct a comprehensive training session to ensure your team can effectively utilize the system.

Adoption Review

After the training, we review user adoption and any feedback on the MVP. This is a crucial phase to identify any adjustments before final deployment.

Ramp Up

Following successful feedback and adoption, we move into full-scale implementation and final deployment. Post-go-live support is provided to ensure seamless transition and continued success.
