CoreView imports data only for active OneDrive users, ensuring that information in CoreView reflects real OneDrive usage within your organization.
Import process
Data source
CoreView’s import process uses information solely from Microsoft "OneDrive Usage" report.
Only users identified as “active” in this official report are imported. If Microsoft does not classify a user as active, that user’s OneDrive information will not appear in CoreView.
Data refresh
Recent changes or newly added OneDrive users may not show up immediately in CoreView reports.
This is due to a reporting timeline that involves both Microsoft and CoreView:
- Microsoft typically updates its “OneDrive Usage” report every one to two days.
- In addition, CoreView's scheduled import cycle introduces an additional delay.
As a result, there is generally a two to three day lag between activity in OneDrive and when updated data appears in CoreView reports.
Reports impacted
The following CoreView reports are affected by the import process:
- OneDrive Owners
- Active Users (fields relating to OneDrive)
- OneDrive Statistics
- OneDrive Sizes
- OneDrive with Multiple Owners
- OneDrive Inactive Users
Data import eligibility
When users are not imported
Some users’ OneDrive data may be missing in CoreView's reports for these reasons:
-
Provisioned but inactive users
Users with a OneDrive account that has never been used (no data uploaded) are not listed in the Microsoft “OneDrive Usage” report and cannot be imported into CoreView. -
License removed
If a user’s license is removed and they stop using OneDrive, their record is deleted from the Microsoft “OneDrive Usage” report and will not be updated in CoreView. -
Renamed User Principal Name with no activity
If a user’s UPN (User Principal Name) changes and the user is no longer active on OneDrive, neither the old nor new UPN will appear in the “OneDrive Usage” report, preventing import or updates in CoreView.
Inactive accounts within 180 days
If a OneDrive account has had no activity within the last 180 days, it is excluded from Microsoft’s “Last 180 days” usage report. As a result:
- The OneDrive record will not appear in the import.
- Updates to that account (such as property changes) will not be reflected in CoreView.
