May 20 enhancements
The next version of Simeon Cloud is here!
Simeon is pleased to announce that the rollout of the next major version of our Simeon Cloud software has begun! We have been working tirelessly to update our codebase to provide across-the-board efficiency gains, improve Sync performance, and introduce new features.
For an overview of what changes can be expected with the launch of this new version, including a list of prerequisites and recommendations, please see our new guide. We have already begun updating clients to this new version and will continue to update more clients each week. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this update, please let us know by reaching out to support@simeoncloud.com

Requesting new configurations
One of the most exciting aspects of the next version of Simeon Cloud is the ability to rapidly build support for new providers and supported configurations. But don’t just take our word for it, let us know what new M365 configurations you want to see included in Simeon!
If you have a configuration you would love to see supported by Simeon Cloud, including additional Defender configurations, please submit a feature request! All feature requests can be submitted to our support team at support@simeoncloud.com. When submitting a feature request, there are a few things we require:
- Please include the phrase “Feature Request” in your email subject or body so we can quickly identify it and get it submitted without delay
- Include a URL to the Microsoft portal and blade where the requested feature is found
- Include a screenshot showing the specific configuration(s) of interest to be supported
Product Updates: The Simeon team is always hard at work for you!
- Microsoft recently announced that the Exchange Online service principal that Simeon previously relied on has been deprecated. To ensure continued support for Syncing Exchange Online and other configurations, and to prevent any service disruptions, we released an updated service principal named Simeon Cloud Sync in 2023.
- Any tenants that have not successfully updated to use our new service principal or a compatible custom service principal will no longer be able to Sync Exchange Online configurations! These configurations will instead be skipped by the Sync.
- In addition, any tenants without a compatible service principal will not be eligible for the update to our next version of Simeon Cloud.
- Any tenant that is not using a compatible service principal should follow the steps in this guide to complete the update or reinstall the tenant.
We have a new sign-in page!
We are pleased to introduce our new Simeon sign-in page! This page not only looks great but also highlights our deepening collaboration with our partner company, CoreView. This new page is the start of something great, and we have a lot planned for our app moving forward. Stay tuned!
A new approach for Apply to and Exclude from on Reconcile
Apply to and Exclude from allow you to quickly deploy or remove a baseline configuration across all of your tenants in bulk. We have updated this feature to now instantly load all tenants under your baseline. This allows you to quickly select the desired tenants, apply the config, run a Sync, and be on your way. To apply or exclude baseline configurations, navigate to Reconcile > select your baseline tenant > find the configuration you wish to change > click the three dots … to the right > Apply to or Exclude from.
Please note that the configuration in the destination tenants will get overwritten when using Apply to and Exclude from. This includes if the configuration is currently in conflict with the baseline or matching the baseline.
