Base score

Each enabled policy with a configured threshold and a Critical or Warning severity level adds compliance points to your possible score. Policies marked as “Critical” add 50 points, while policies marked as “Warning” add 10 points. The calculation is performed at the tenant level.

Deductions for non-compliance

If a matched item exceeds the threshold becoming a violation, the entire score will be deducted.

Score calculation

  • Maximum score: calculated based on the number of Critical enabled policies times 50 compliance points, plus Warning enbled policies times 10.
  • Deductions: made based on non-compliant Critical (-50) and Warning (-10) policies.
  • Final score: your score after deductions is calculated.

Compliance rate

(Final score/Maximum score) x 100

Your compliance rate translates into a grade, following our grading scale below.

Grading scale

A+ (97-100%), A (93-96%), A- (90-92%)

B+ (87-89%), B (83-86%), B- (80-82%)

C+ (77-79%), C (73-76%), C- (70-72%)

D+ (67-69%), D (63-66%), D- (60-62%)

F (0-59%)

Example

Consider a tenant with 10 policies:

  • 4 Critical policies are fully compliant
  • 4 Warning policies are fully compliant
  • 1 Critical policy has 1 item exceeding the threshold (50 points to be deducted).
  • 1 Warning policy has 4 items exceeding the threshold (10 points to be deducted).

Calculation

  • Maximum score: (4 x 50) + (4 x 10) + 50 + 10 = 300 compliance points
  • Deductions: 60 points
  • Final score: 300 - 60 = 240 compliance points
  • Compliance rate: (240/300) x 100 = 80%

Based on the grading scale, a 80% compliance rate corresponds to a B- grade.
