Why do certain values appear hidden in reports?
Certain values are automatically masked in the interface to protect security and privacy. We mask any input that contains sensitive terms such as:
Newpassword
password
instrumentationkey
pwd
If any of these terms appear in a field or value, that value will be hidden to ensure confidential information is not exposed.
What is the meaning of an “Inactive” license on a User Card?
When a license is marked as “Inactive” on a User Card, it indicates that the license has not yet been used for any activity in any workload. Once a user's activity is tracked in any of the workloads associated with the license, the license status will be updated to “Active”.
However, the “Inactive” status does not prevent the user from using the license, as they can still utilize its associated features and functionality.

For reports like “Savings Opportunities” that display monthly snapshots, at what point in time are these snapshots captured?
The snapshot is taken on the last day of the month and displays data up to that point. For the current month, the data displayed is from the last import.
If I recreate the License Pool, will the savings opportunities be recalculated?
Yes, the Savings Opportunities report will be recalculated.
How do you define the column “Active plans”?
The calculation logic for active plans is similar to that of license optimization. For more information on how activity is calculated, refer to this article: Understanding the Optimization center
How do you determine if a user is active in Exchange Online?
To determine whether a user is active in Exchange Online, check the attribute called "Last Exchange User Action." This attribute records the last time the user performed any Exchange Online activity, such as sending an email or updating a calendar event. For more information on how to use this attribute to determine user activity, refer to this article: Troubleshoot Active Users (License Usage) data

Can you please advise how I can edit scheduled reports created by another operator to add another notification user? And, is there a way to delete the report scheduled by another operator?
You can only edit the scheduled reports that you created. For reports created by other operators, you are not permitted to edit or delete them. However, you can duplicate them and then add or update the notification email.
We are observing different total counts of active licenses in the Subscriptions Center compared to the Microsoft Admin Center. We've identified that the discrepancy is due to the licenses that are in “warning” status. Why does CoreView consider them?
CoreView counts licenses in “warning” status as active because they can still be utilized for an additional 30 days. Microsoft, however, does not count them, primarily for commercial reasons.
Why doesn't the Message Trace report return the expected results?
If you have the authority to manage the V-Tenant(s), ensure that the sender and/or recipient is part of your V-Tenant(s). Also, bear in mind that the search is limited to the last 10 days, and it is not possible to search solely by domain when a V-Tenant has been applied.
How can I safely remove resources identified as empty or unused in reports including both on-premises and cloud resources?
Reports that identify empty, unused, or potentially unnecessary resources (such as groups, mailboxes, or user accounts) are often generated from data imports that occur at varying intervals across different systems (on-premises and cloud). Because of this, temporary data inconsistencies can result in resources appearing empty or unused, even if that state is only momentary.
To avoid accidentally deleting resources that could soon be repopulated or become active again, we recommend the following best practices before performing any bulk deletion:
Option A: Manual verification over time
- Export the current report showing empty or unused resources.
- Wait a period of at least one week (or according to your organization’s policy).
- Re-run or revisit the relevant report and compare it to your original export.
- If the same resources consistently appear as empty or unused in both reports, they are more likely safe to remove.
Option B: Automated cross-check with source directories
- Create a custom action that programmatically checks whether the resources listed as empty or unused are also in the same state within your underlying directory services (such as Entra ID and Active Directory).
- Only trigger the deletion workflow for resources confirmed as empty or unused across all relevant sources.
Caution:
Because these reports rely on data from multiple sources and variable import times, avoid making bulk deletions based solely on a single report snapshot. Following these approaches will reduce the risk of prematurely removing resources that may still be needed or are about to be updated.
Why is a deleted SharePoint site missing from the SharePoint Recycle Bin report?
The report is updated automatically only for sites deleted using the “Delete SharePoint site” management action in CoreView. If a site is deleted in the Microsoft Admin Center, select “Refresh data” to update the report.
